Dispute Affects Numerous Upper Midwest Network Affiliates

A retransmission consent dispute between DirecTV and Nexstar has resulted in several Upper Midwest network affiliates being removed from the satellite provider.

Nexstar says the outage began at 6 p.m. Central time on Sunday, July 2.

Nexstar’s stations in the Upper Midwest include:

113 markets nationwide are affected. The outage also includes Nexstar’s national news channel, NewsNation.

DirecTV says Nexstar is demanding “more than double” the current viewer fees. Nexstar says it is seeking “the same fair market rates it offered to other distribution partners.”
