Weekly Log: Longtime Wis. Radio Host Won’t Return

Rick McNeal has announced he will not be returning to the morning show at WAPL/105.7 (Appleton) due to health concerns. McNeal had been with the station for 39 years.

Brooks Wenzel has joined “KS95” (KSTP-FM/94.5 St. Paul) for weekends and fill-in duties.

Tegna NBC affiliate KARE 11 (Minneapolis) has announced the newsroom additions of Joe McCoy as a multiskilled journalist and Felicity Dachel as nightside digital executive producer.

Minnesota Public Radio‘s attempt to offer continuing coverage of national breaking news on Sunday, July 14, was stymied by a lack of offerings from their national partners. MPR News, which normally airs “Weekend Edition” until 11 a.m., stuck with the program until 1 p.m. but listeners mostly heard repeats of features that aired earlier. After President Joe Biden finished a short 1 p.m. speech, MPR News switched to the BBC World Service, which went to a sports report a short time later.
