Update: Spanish-Language Format Arrives in Worthington

A Spanish-language format has launched in Worthington, MN, replacing a three-year-old Contemporary Christian format.

The Radio Works Group debuted “La Voz” on Monday, July 29, on KZTP/104.3 (Sibley-Worthington), several weeks after the impending change was first announced in a social media post.

Worthington is in Nobles County, where the U.S. Census Bureau says 34.7% of residents are Hispanic or Latino. The area has no other Spanish-language stations.

KZTP transmits with 3.4kW/134m (class A) from a tower southwest of Worthington. It’s one of four stations operated by Radio Works, with the others carrying Country, Classic Hits, and Sports formats.

KZTP had previously carried a Contemporary Christian format known as “The Bridge,” which launched in 2021. The frequency had carried a Regional Mexican format when it first launched in 2008 but switched to Country seven months later.

In the Contemporary Christian format, the region is also served by non-commercial station “Life 96.5” (KNWC-FM/96.5 Sioux Falls), “K-Love” station KLDX/88.5 (Sioux Center, IA), and commercial outlet “KDWC” (K257FP/99.3 Pipestone and KJOE-HD3 Slayton).
