De La Hunt Media’s KAKK/1570 (Walker) has gone silent, citing financial reasons.
An FCC notification states KAKK went off the air Feb. 14. It does not provide additional details of the station’s financial circumstances.
KAKK had carried a Sports Talk format since 2022. The station’s page has now been removed from De La Hunt Media’s website, though its logo still appears in some spots.
KAKK’s programming was relayed on K229DJ/93.7 (Walker). There has not yet been an FCC filing updating K229DJ’s current status. K229DJ is required to relay KAKK in perpetuity due to its grant during the AM revitalization effort.
De La Hunt’s other Walker signals are Classic Hits outlet KQKK/101.9 (Walker) and K242AY/96.3 (Walker), which relays Talk/Adult Contemporary station KPRM/870 (Park Rapids).
KAKK is licensed for 9.5kW day and 250 Watts night, non-directional.
