Syndicated weekly outdoors program “Minnesota Bound” announced that it’s changing channels in the Twin Cities with the new year. Having aired on Tegna NBC affiliate KARE/11 since launching 30 years ago, “Minnesota Bound” will move to Hubbard ABC affiliate KSTP-TV/5 and Independent “45TV” (KSTC-TV/5.2.) It will air at 9:30 p.m. Saturdays on “45TV” and at 11 p.m. Sundays on KSTP-TV.

Prolific Wisconsin author and PBS Wisconsin host Jerry Apps died Dec. 23 at 91. Apps wrote dozens of books about rural history and country life and more than a thousand columns for newspapers and magazines. In addition to creating specials for PBS Wisconsin, Apps also made regular appearances on Wisconsin Public Radio and taught at the University of Wisconsin.
People continue to mourn the recent passing of Thomas “Tommy Lee” Bychinski, who worked at radio stations in Medford, Marshfield, and Reedsburg in his 44-year career. “Just an awesome person and great broadcaster,” one former employee writes. Bychinski was 79.
Several Gray Media stations in Iowa are carrying four St. Louis Blues NHL games this season: KCRG-TV (Cedar Rapids), KWQC (Davenport), KYOU-TV (Ottumwa), and WGEM-TV (Quincy-Keokuk). The first game aired Dec. 27 with additional broadcasts on Jan. 2, Jan. 9, and March 28.
Heart of Wisconsin Media’s WCWI/106.1 (Adams) has launched an HD2 signal called “The Buck” carrying Alt and Classic Country, along with some Southern Rock.

Radio YouTuber Ellis Feaster posted a montage of the sign-off of WNAM/1280 (Neenah-Menasha), which, as previously reported here, left the air at the end of 2025.
In a followup to last week’s mini-rant about radio stations completely dropping Christmas music after Christmas Day, it turns out many stations chose to continue the seasonal music after Dec. 25 this year. KTIS-FM/98.5 and “Kool 108” (KQQL/107.9) were among many that continued holiday music through Sunday, Dec. 28. A few others, including several stations between formats, continued into New Year’s week. The All-Christmas list has been updated to include end dates for stations that continued Santa’s playlist past Christmas Day.
