Twin Cities TV viewers now have two new channels from full-power stations, while one network has moved to a new channel.
FOX Weather is now being carried on channel 9.7, originating on the transmitter of FOX-owned WFTC (RF 29). A viewer on AVS Forum reports that it’s being carried in 720p HD format, and another viewer reported that it’s also being carried on channel 26.4 of KFTC (Bemidji).
FOX Weather, which streams freely through numerous platforms including the KMSP/WFTC website, is also simulcast on WFTC’s primary FOX 9+ channel (9.2) for an hour weekdays at 10 a.m. as well as 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday.
Meanwhile, Antenna TV has moved from channel 5.4 of Hubbard’s KSTC-TV to newly-added channel 23.6 of Sinclair’s WUCW. The change puts Antenna TV next to Rewind TV, which is carried on channel 23.5; both classic TV networks are owned by Nexstar.
With Antenna TV gone from KSTC-TV, channel 5.4 is now airing getTV, another network which features reruns. getTV had been carried on WUCW up until five years ago and has been seen more recently on channel 25.6 of HC2’s KJNK-LD.
FOX Weather launched on WFTC in April while the Antenna TV and getTV changes happened at the beginning of May.
WFTC, KSTC, and WUCW are relayed on numerous translators around the state.
