Flood Communications Buys Nebraska’s “Twister”

Posted on April 13, 2023 by Jon Ellis

Flood Communications is expanding to Nebraska’s Sandhills region with the purchase of the two “Twister” stations from DJ Broadcasting.

Flood announced the purchase of KSDZ/95.5 (Gordon) and KDJL/99.5 (Kilgore-Valentine) on April 13. The sale price is $850,000, according to an asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC on April 19.

The stations twist daytime Country and nighttime Classic Hits with local news, farm information, and FOX national newscasts. They have few local competitors in their coverage areas along the Nebraska-South Dakota border.

Flood Communications, founded by Congressman Mike Flood, operates 16 other radio stations and seven low-power TV stations through seven licensees. The stations do business as News Channel Nebraska.
