The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.
Iowa
The FCC approved a frequency change for the Divine Mercy Educational Radio Association’s K249EP/97.7 (Fort Madison) to 94.3 as K232GF. The translator will continue to broadcast with 250 Watts from West Point, relaying KDME-LP/98.3 (Fort Madison).
Michigan
Iron River Community Broadcasting’s W250CQ/97.9 (Iron River) went off the air due to damage from an April 7 lightning storm, according to the station’s request for special temporary authority to remain silent. W250CQ relays WFER/1230.
Minnesota
The FCC approved the transfer of WEQY-LP/104.7 (St. Paul) from the Dayton’s Bluff District Four Community Council to the BLCK Press Center for Broadcast Journalism.
Zoe Communications closed on its purchase of WELY/1450 and WELY-FM/94.5 (Ely) from the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa on April 20.
Nebraska
On April 27, Tri-State Broadcasting Association closed on its purchase of K237DV/95.3 (McCook) and the construction permit for a new 500-Watt station on 88.1 in McCook from The Praise Network. K237DV will relay Tri-State’s KJLT-FM/94.9 (North Platte).
Central City Baptist Church’s KOOW-LP/95.1 (Central City) returned to the air April 22 after installing a new transmitter.
South Dakota
Real Presence Radio’s K264DG/100.7 (Brookings), which recently moved from 94.7, has now applied to move to 90.1. It would remain 250 Watts and continue to relay KGWD/94.5 (Sioux Falls).
Wisconsin
Good Karma Brands’ WGKB/1510 (Waukesha) reported that it is transmitting with 10 Watts, rather than its licensed 250 Watts, due to transmitter damage caused during an April 20 lightning storm.
Magnum Radio’s WEZY/105.7 (Chippewa Falls-Eau Claire) notified the FCC that it has activated an HD Radio signal.
