Buyer Seeks New Facility for Holdrege AM

Posted on November 20, 2019 by Jon Ellis

The Nebraska Rural Radio Association is seeking FCC approval for a plan to move KUVR/1380 (Holdrege) to a new site, restoring most of its previous daytime coverage area.

As previously reported here, KUVR is currently using just 25 Watts day and night from its studio site after losing access to its licensed tower site. The station is licensed for 500 Watts day and 62 Watts night.

The NRRA is in the process of buying KUVR and has applied to move its transmitter to the tower site of the NRRA’s KRVN/880, which is just north of Holdrege. KUVR would use 320 Watts non-directional daytime but would go off the air at night.

KUVR is relayed on K245CK/96.9, and the signals carry a Classic Hits format.
