Alpha Media’s KEEZ/99.1 (Mankato) has returned to “Z99” branding and segued from Hot Adult Contemporary to Contemporary Hit Radio.
The change comes six years after KEEZ dropped the longtime “Z99” slogan in favor of “Mix 99-1.”
Listeners are likely to notice the change in name more than the change in playlist since current Hot AC and CHR stations largely play the same artists and songs, with CHR emphasizing slightly newer releases.
“Z99” competes with Subarctic Media’s “Hot 96.7” (KDOG North Mankato). There is no other AC or Hot AC station in the immediate Mankato area, though Subarctic Media’s “101.5 The Emoji” (KEMJ St. James) is within KEEZ’s coverage area.
