Leighton Media is buying KMGK/107.1 (Glenwood) from Steven Nestor’s Branstock Communications.
According to an asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC on Oct. 13, Leighton Radio Holdings and Leighton Enterprises will pay $160,000 for KMGK. The buyer will begin operating the station on Nov. 1 under a local marketing agreement.
KMGK’s coverage area is in a rural area south of Alexandria which is also served by K289CL/105.7 (Glenwood), a translator of Leighton News/Talker KXRA/1490 (Alexandria). KMGK’s city-grade coverage area does not overlap with KXRA, KXRA/1490, KXRA-FM/92.3, or KXRZ/99.3 (Alexandria).
“Magic 107.1” carries a full-service format with a broad Classic Hits playlist, with a late-evening block of Old Time Radio. Branstock Communications bought the station in 1993 and Nestor has served as general manager since then.
