“Resistance” Apparently Over in Milwaukee

Posted on September 1, 2020 by Jon Ellis

The Liberal Talk format “Resistance Radio” appears to have left the dial in Milwaukee but continues in Madison.

The format had been carried on WRRD/1510 (Waukesha-Milwaukee) since 2017 and more recently on W269DL/101.7 (Milwaukee). Its Facebook page carried a message Tuesday urging people to continue listening online, or to the Madison stations.

Listeners report the station is now carrying ESPN Radio, and WRRD and W269DL are now being included in the legal ID of full-time ESPN affiliate WAUK/540 (Jackson-Milwaukee). Details have not been announced.

The move comes two weeks after WRRD filed an application to downgrade to 250 Watts, with part of its transmitter site listed for sale. The station left its Milwaukee studio that same week.
