KSTP/1500 (St. Paul) has rebranded as “Skor North,” replacing the “1500 ESPN” brand the Hubbard Radio station had used since flipping to all-Sports in 2010. (For those not from Minnesota, “Skor” is a play on the “skol” chant used at Vikings games.)
“Skor North” will continue to carry ESPN before Noon and after 7 p.m., with an hour devoted to the Vikings at Noon, an hour on the Twins, Timberwolves, or Vikings (depending on season) at 1 o’clock, Matthew Coller from 2 to 4, Phil Mackie, Judd Zulgad, and Ramie Makhlouf from 3 to 6, and various shows from 6 to 7. The 6 o’clock hour will sometimes feature the podcast of Patrick Reusse, a longtime host who was dropped from the KSTP lineup last fall along with Joe Soucheray (whose “Garage Logic” has also continued as a podcast.)
Makhlouf comes from Milwaukee’s “Fan” (WSSP), and KSTP has also hired Danny Cunningham, who recently worked at ESPN Cleveland (WKNR), as well as Seth Auger from the Timberwolves social media team.
“Skor North” is also simulcast on the HD2 signal of KSTP-FM/94.5.
