WCCO Returns to DirecTV

Posted on August 8, 2019 by Jon Ellis

WCCO-TV/4 (Minneapolis) is back on DirecTV after a nearly three-week outage caused by a retransmission consent dispute between CBS and the satellite provider.

A post on WCCO This Morning’s Facebook page indicates the station returned Thursday morning:

CBS owned-and-operated stations had left DirecTV and AT&T U-verse on Saturday, July 20, after the two sides failed to reach a deal. The dispute affected carriage of 17 major market CBS affiliates across the nation as well as CBS Sports Network and the Smithsonian Channel.

Additionally, CBS said the dispute affected 117 CBS affiliates on the DirecTV Now streaming service.

DirecTV remains in retransmission consent disputes with Nexstar and Second Generation of Iowa.
