Wis. Station Changes Format with Launch of FM Signal

Posted on October 30, 2019 by Jon Ellis

WGXI/1420 (Plymouth) has changed format coinciding with the launch of new FM translator W253CW/98.5.

Radio/DX Information from Wisconsin reports that WGXI has switched to a Gold-based Adult Contemporary format as “Love 985 dot FM.” The station’s old website says the change happened at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30; a new Facebook page has been launched with a link to an online stream:

The new format includes John Tesh’s “Intelligence For Your Life” in the evening.

WGXI had previously carried an Adult Standards format as “The Breeze.” The station is owned by Galaxie Broadcasting, which bought it in 2017.

The 250-Watt W253CW has a rimshot signal to Sheboygan Falls and fringe coverage of Sheboygan.
