Waupaca Station Switches to Classic Hits after Sale

Posted on May 20, 2020 by Jon Ellis

WDUX-FM/92.7 (Waupaca) has switched to Classic Hits under new ownership, dropping a broad Adult Contemporary format.

Tower Road Media closed on its purchase of WDUX-FM and WDUX/800 from Laird Broadcasting last week. The flip to `80s-based Classic Hits as “Lakes 92.7” came on Wednesday, May 20.

Meanwhile, WDUX/800 is off the air, telling the FCC in a request for special temporary authority to remain silent that it is updating and improving its broadcast facilities. Future plans for the AM station, which most recently carried Classic Country, have not been announced. The deal also included future WDUX translator W264DZ/100.7.

Tower Road Media is owned by Donald Grassman and Keith Bratel, both from Shawano. Grassman also has an interest in station groups in Clintonville, Shawano, Antigo, and Iron Mountain, Mich.
