Another Waupaca Radio Station Changes Format

Posted on June 8, 2020 by Jon Ellis

A city-owned low-power FM station in Waupaca, Wis., has changed its default format following a change by the commercial FM station in the city.

WILW-LP/96.3 is now carrying Adult Alternative in the daytime and overnight hours, positioned as “World Class Variety.” The new playlist began June 1 and replaces a broad selection of Oldies and Classic Hits that had aired from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from Midnight to 4 a.m.

The station explains in a Facebook post that its previous format had broad overlap with the new “Lakes 92.7” (WDUX-FM) as well as WPAK/106.9 (Tigerton).

WILW continues to carry numerous specialty programs, including a daily morning Polka show, an evening Wisconsin music program, and numerous city, county, and school board meetings.
