An FM translator and its AM counterpart in Jamestown have dropped ESPN Radio for Light Adult Contemporary.
K296HH/107.1 and KQDJ/1400 are now known as “Jamestown 107.1,” positioned as “songs to make you feel good and relax.”
It appears the change happened at the beginning of the month, based on Facebook postings.
250-Watt K296HH signed on in 2018 relaying KQDJ’s Sports format, which had previously been rebroadcast on a separate FM translator in the market that switched to relaying an HD2 station.
“Jamestown 107.1” is one of seven formats operated in the area by the Ingstad family’s i3G Media. The group also includes “90s to Now” station “Q101” (KQDJ-FM/101.1 Valley City), with i3G’s stations taking on Chesterman Communications’ “Mix 93.3″(KSJZ Jamestown) from either end of the Pop spectrum.
The i3G group previously carried a Light AC format on KXGT/98.3 (Carrington-Jamestown) up until 2012.
The change leaves the Jamestown market with no local Talk or Sports stations, though AM big talkers from Bismarck and Fargo can be heard easily in the area.
