Simmons Broadcasting has launched its “Rock Farm” format on a larger signal in northeastern North Dakota: KYTZ/106.7 (Walhalla).
Social media posts indicate KYTZ flipped from its previous Adult Top 40 “Big 106” format to Classic Rock on the Fourth of July.
KYTZ’s 16kW/255m (class C2) facility serves an area along the Canadian border, delivering a usable signal to Altona, Morden, and Winkler, Manitoba.
Simmons Broadcasting, which also runs Country-formatted cross-border signal “Maverick 105” (KAOC/105.1 Cavalier), maintains a sales office in Morden. The stations compete with Golden West Radio’s Country, Adult Contemporary, and Full Service Easy Listening formats in southern Manitoba.
“The Rock Farm” also airs on KLME/95.7 (Langdon) and KAUJ/100.9 (Grafton), and KYTZ’s larger coverage area overlaps greatly with both KLME and KAUJ. It appears both stations are still airing “The Rock Farm” as well, though KYTZ’s legal ID mentions Landon.
