Magnum Rocks Another Trio of Wisconsin Radio Signals

Posted on October 11, 2022January 30, 2024 by Jon Ellis

Magnum Media has launched a Classic Rock format on another trio of Wisconsin signals.

“Wanna Rock” is now airing on translators W245DQ/96.9 (Waunakee) and W271DQ/102.1 (Baraboo), relaying a format legally originating on WAUN/1350 (Portage). The lineup includes the syndicated Woody Show in the morning.

The move comes a couple of weeks after W271DQ completed a large upgrade that added coverage of Portage and Wisconsin Dells. Meanwhile, W245DQ transmits from De Forest, covering the northern Madison metro.

The new format competes primarily with iHeartMedia legacy Classic Rocker WIBA-FM/101.5 (Sauk City-Madison).

Magnum also recently launched the same format on two FM signals and an AM signal on the other side of Madison.

1350, formerly WPDR and WEZY, had previously carried a Classic Hits format. As previously noted, Magnum is moving the WEZY callsign to WCFW/105.7 (Chippewa Falls); the FCC database indicates the WAUN-FM callsign remains at Magnum’s 92.7 (Kewaunee).
