Family Worship Center Church, led by Jimmy Swaggart, is buying a full-power TV station in Milwaukee.
According to an asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC on Nov. 21, Family Worship Center Church will pay Randy Nonberg’s Milwaukee Media LLC $8.9 million for WIWN/68.1, which is licensed to Fond du Lac and transmits from Milwaukee on RF channel 5.
WIWN currently carries a dozen channels, including Swaggart’s SonLife Broadcasting Network (SBN) on channel 68.8. Its primary channel, which currently runs Cozi TV, is carried on cable and satellite providers in the Milwaukee market.
Louisiana-based Family Worship Center Church owns one other full-power TV station, one Class A TV station, and 32 radio stations, none of which is in Wisconsin.
Milwaukee Media also owns WMKE-CD/36 (Milwaukee), which is not included in the deal.
