Station Goes Classic Rock with Launch of Suburban Milwaukee Signal

Posted on February 11, 2024February 11, 2024 by Jon Ellis

A station north of Milwaukee has switched to a Classic Rock format as it launches a new FM translator signal in the northern suburbs.

Magnum Media’s former WIBD/1470 (West Bend) is now WRYU “We Rock You,” replacing a Classic Hits/Information format that had aired on WIBD and W267CL/101.3.

WRYU is rebroadcast on W230DJ/93.9 (Cedarburg) and also continues to be heard on W267CL. W230DJ transmits with 250 Watts from Cedarburg, also reaching Mequon and Grafton.

The new format’s lineup includes Bill Mitchell in the morning.

As a Classic Rocker, WRYU competes mainly with Saga’s WKLH/96.5 (Milwaukee).

Magnum’s stations also include “Buzz Country 92.5” (WMBZ West Bend-Milwaukee).
