WRJN Flips Back to Full-Service Oldies Format

Posted on May 14, 2024May 14, 2024 by Jon Ellis

Less than a year after dropping music for Civic Media’s News/Talk lineup, WRJN/1400 (Racine) and its two FM translators have flipped back to a full-service music format.

The station reports that the change happened on Tuesday, May 14, advising fans of the talk programming to tune into the regional signal of WAUK/540 (Jackson-Milwaukee) or the Civic Media app.

Positioned as “Local News and Timeless Hits,” WRJN features mostly live announcers during the day with traditional Oldies from the Beatles, Elvis, and the Supremes. Local news runs twice per hour.

The new lineup includes Don Rosen from 6 to 9 a.m. followed by Cindy Huber in middays and Curt Vollman afternoons.

Lou Rugani’s Sunday morning show “Music of the Stars,” heard across Civic Media’s Wisconsin network, will continue to air on WRJN. The Brewers, Packers, Badgers, Bucks and high school sports also continue.

WRJN is rebroadcast on W260CV/99.9 (Racine) and W251BU/98.1 (Kenosha).

It had switched to News/Talk last June after Civic’s purchase of the station.
