Spirit Catholic Radio’s 8th Full-Power Signal Signs On

Posted on May 16, 2024May 16, 2024 by Jon Ellis

Spirit Catholic Radio Network has signed on the eight full-power FM signal in its service covering Nebraska.

KONL/91.5 (O’Neill) transmits with 1.2kW/73m (class A).

The network says it cost just over $50,000 to build the new station. An anonymous family donated $25,000, which was matched by donations from the O’Neill area.

When including translators and low-power FM stations, the Spirit Catholic Radio Network now has 18 signals.

KONL’s sign-on comes a month after the network, which uses the licensee name VSS Catholic Communications, signed on KVEJ/91.9 (Valentine). It also has a construction permit for a new station in Ogallala, which the network says will sign on in the coming months.

Meanwhile, O’Neill is the home base for The Praise Network’s KGRD/105.3 (Orchard) and My Bridge Radio also has a construction permit for a new station in the community.
