Posted on May 22, 2025May 22, 2025 by Jon Ellis

The Lac Du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians has signed on a new radio station in northern Wisconsin.

WLDF/92.9 (Lac du Flambeau), licensed to the L.D.F. Business Development Corp., transmits with 6kW/67m (class A). Its coverage area includes the Lac du Flambeau reservation as well as Minocqua.

The station’s Facebook page indicates WLDF is carrying an Adult Alternative format as “The Torch,” with Native America Calling airing at noon.

The Facebook page indicates programming began last fall. The station, first granted by the FCC in early 2024, filed an application for a license to cover on May 22.
