Weekly Log: Changes at Civic Media’s Wisconsin Talk Network

Posted on November 21, 2025November 22, 2025 by Jon Ellis

Civic Media has dropped two hosts from its statewide News/Talk lineup and replaced them with a new afternoon show hosted by the company’s Madison morning team. Todd Allbaugh, who had hosted from 2 to 4 p.m. on ten Civic Media stations, announced on Facebook that he had been let go for budgetary reasons. Maggie Daun, who had hosted from 4 to 6 p.m. on the statewide network, is no longer being broadcast. John and Gordy are now airing from 2 to 5 p.m. statewide in addition to their 6 to 8 a.m. show in Madison. “Nite Lite with Pete Schwaba” is now starting an hour earlier at 5 p.m.

Lonnie Scott has retired from “Bluejay 96.3” (WJMT/730 and W242CZ Merrill) after a 45-year career in radio that included work at stations in Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin. He’d hosted mornings at WJMT since 2017.

Cumulus Media’s “Love 105” trimulcast in the Twin Cities has added the syndicated “TJ Show” from 6 to 10 a.m. “Love 105” is heard on WGVX/105.1 (Lakeville), WLUP/105.3 (Cambridge), and WWWM-FM/105.7 (Eden Prairie-Minneapolis).

Bell Media’s “Bounce 99.9” (CFWM-FM Winnipeg) announced that Gabby Marchand will join existing host Beau on its morning show starting Dec. 1.

Meteorologist Anthony Peoples has returned to Nexstar CBS affiliate WHBF/4 (Rock Island) and Nexstar-operated FOX affiliate KLJB/18 (Davenport) as part of the morning show.

Longtime Green Bay meteorologist Tom Mahoney has died at 75. According to his obituary, Mahoney started his TV career as weekend meteorologist at WFRV before moving to Oklahoma City and then WISN-TV/12 (Milwaukee). After serving as chief meteorologist for a national morning show on the Christian Broadcasting Network, Mahoney returned to WFRV as chief meteorologist in 1982, a role he held until retirement in 2013.

Local ABC affiliates and Disney-owned cable channels returned to YouTube TV on Nov. 14 after a two-week outage due to a dispute between the companies.

The Minnesota Frost announced that their games will air this season on FOX 9+ (WFTC/9.2 Minneapolis) in addition to FanDuel Sports Network North, with some of the FanDuel games only on its digital platform.

The Dubuque Telegraph-Herald reports that the longtime home of KDTH/1370 (Dubuque) is being demolished. The newspaper reports that the building was “the first broadcast-specific facility west of the Mississippi River” when KDTH signed on in 1941. It remained in the building for 70 years.

All-Christmas Update: Conversions to the seasonal playlist have continued, with changeovers seemingly more spread out across multiple days this year. iHeartMedia’s “KOOL 108” (KQQL/107.9 Anoka-Minneapolis) made the switch on Friday, Nov. 14, following the same schedule as last year. Several more Upper Midwest stations followed on Saturday, Nov. 15, and two flipped on Monday, Nov. 17. Many more have announced plans for the changeover around Thanksgiving — see the 2025 All-Christmas Stations page for complete details.
