Omaha AM Station Swaps Sports for Santa

Posted on November 24, 2025November 24, 2025 by Jon Ellis

NRG Media’s KZOT/1180 (Bellevue-Omaha) has dropped Sports and is stunting as “Santa Baby 1180.”

Co-owned NRG stations are promoting “Santa Baby 1180” as “Omaha’s new Christmas station.” The seasonal format competes with SummitMedia’s “Star 104.5” (KSRZ Omaha), which switched to All-Christmas on Nov. 1.

A description posted on the station’s web stream says the All-Christmas format will continue through Friday, Jan. 2. It doesn’t say what will happen after that.

Since 2012, KZOT had run syndicated Sports Talk as “The Zone 2,” a counterpart to co-owned “The Zone” (KOZN/1620 Bellevue-Omaha).

KZOT transmits with 25kW daytime and 1kW nighttime, using different directional patterns day and night. It does not have an FM translator.

NRG’s other stations in the market carry Conservative Talk, Sports, Hot Adult Contemporary, Classic Hits, and Hip-Hop/R&B formats.
