Manitowoc’s WOMT Marks 100 Years with FM Simulcast

Posted on February 1, 2026February 2, 2026 by Jon Ellis

Seehafer Broadcasting’s WOMT/1240 (Manitowoc) is celebrating its 100th anniversary with an expansion to FM.

The former WEMP/98.9 (Two Rivers) became WOMT-FM on Feb. 1, simulcasting WOMT’s longtime Full Service Adult Contemporary format. WEMP had previously carried Easy Listening.

The station also announced that the Badgers and Packers are moving to sister station “Q102.3” (WQTC/102.3 Manitowoc) effective Feb. 1. WOMT will continue to air local sports, the Brewers, and the Bucks.

The station is hosting a series of events to celebrate its centennial leading up to the official anniversary on Nov. 8, 2026.

FCC records show WOMT first broadcast on 1210 with 100 Watts. In 1941, it moved to 1240 as part of a continent-wide frequency shuffle. It was later allowed to upgrade to 250 Watts and now uses 992 Watts. The station has always used the WOMT callsign.

WOMT also continues to be relayed on translator W300EE/107.9 (Manitowoc).

WOMT and WOMT-FM are among six stations operated by Seehafer Broadcasting in Manitowoc-Two Rivers. The others carry Adult Contemporary, Classic Rock, Country, and Classic Country formats.
