Weekly Log: Several People Moves, Station Sign-On Ceremony Set

Posted on July 10, 2026July 9, 2026 by Jon Ellis

Hearst ABC affiliate WISN-TV/12 (Milwaukee) has hired meteorologist Kristen Kirchhaine to forecast on weekend evening newscasts. Kirchhaine previously worked at a different station in the market.

Allen Media ABC affiliate WAOW/9 (Wausau) has promoted Dylan Eckhart to sports director.

Anchor/reporter Camberyn Kelley has departed Gray NBC affiliate WMTV/15 (Madison).

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska’s KWTN/100.9 (Allen, Neb.) has announced a July 22 launch ceremony for a new radio station. As noted in the FCC Monitor, the Winnebago Tribe’s KBVW-FM/89.9 (Winnebago) recently filed a license to cover application. KBVW serves an area southeast of KWTN’s coverage area.

Civic Media’s WELY-FM/94.5 (Ely) has been stunting since late June with a short mix of attention-getting songs such as “Mexican Radio,” “The Bird,” and “Hooked on a Feeling.” No launch date has been announced. WELY-FM notified the FCC that it returned to the air last November and upgraded to 35kW in May.
