Riverfront Broadcasting has added a seventh radio station in the Black Hills, taking over operations of KIMM/1150 and K294BT/106.7 (Rapid City) with a deal to buy the station.
According to a news release, Riverfront took over programming of the stations on Aug. 1 with a sale pending. An application to transfer the license from current owner Black Hills Broadcasting LLC, held by Nate Brown, had not yet been filed with the FCC as of midday Aug. 4.
KIMM/K294BT continues to run its “FOX Sports Rapid City” format, which includes Brown’s afternoon show.
The news release also says that KIMM with partner with Riverfront’s existing KOTA/1380 (Rapid City) and KDSJ/980 (Deadwood) to form the “Riverfront Sports Network,” which will include radio broadcasts, video streaming, digital content, and live event production.
Riverfront also owns four music-formatted FM stations in the market. The company also has radio groups in Huron, Pierre, and Yankton.
KIMM is one of two All-Sports stations in the Black Hills, competing with Haugo Broadcasting’s “ESPN Rapid City” (KTOQ/1340 and K289AI/105.7).
