FCC Monitor: Nebraska TV Station Completes Move from VHF to UHF

Posted on August 17, 2026August 15, 2026 by Jon Ellis

The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.

Iowa

Hawkeye Seventh-Day Adventist Church has filed an application to transfer KRJE/89.9 (Hawkeye) to NE Iowa Christian Radio for no consideration. The station also notes on its website that it may be silent at times between Aug. 16 and 18 while it moves its studio.

DTV America’s KFKZ-LD/30 (Cedar Falls) reports that it has been operating at reduced power of 3.9kW since since Aug. 7 due to issues with the power amplifier. It has requested special temporary authority to continue at the reduced power level until repairs are made.

Minnesota

The FCC has granted a modification to future low-power FM station KBOR-LP/94.1 (Plymouth), owned by the AddiEun Foundation, to move back to its originally-planned tower site, which is the well-known tower pictured at the right. KBOR-LP faces a Feb. 13, 2027, construction deadline.

HC2 Station Group’s K33LN-D (Minneapolis) reports that it returned to the air Aug. 5 at reduced power of 1.95kW “due to high temperatures which do not allow the transmitter to operate safely.” It has been granted special temporary authority to continue at the reduced power level.

Nebraska

Nebraska Public Media’s KUON/12.1 (Lincoln) has completed its move from VHF to UHF, moving from RF channel 12 to RF 27 with 680kW. It continues to appear as virtual channel 12.1 on receivers. The station has advised viewers to rescan.

Central City Baptist Church’s KOOW-LP/95.1 (Central City) returned to the air on Aug. 11 after repairing its feedline.

North Dakota

Pointe of View Institute’s KOWW-LP /98.1 (Burlington) has returned its license.

South Dakota

Connoisseur Media’s KDLO-FM/96.9 (Watertown) reports that due to tower maintenance that began July 12, it has been operating at 60% of regular power and has been off the air at times between noon and sunset. It has requested special temporary authority to continue at the reduced power level while work continues.

Wisconsin

K-Love’s WPFF/90.5 (Sturgeon Bay) reports that it has been at an unspecified reduced power since Aug. 2 due to transmitter failure.
