Riverfront Buys Huron Radio Group from Dakota Communications

Riverfront Broadcasting is buying the Performance Radio group of stations in Huron, South Dakota, from Dakota Communications.

The deal includes Classic Rocker “Big Jim 93.3” (KJRV Wessington Springs-Huron), Farm/Country station KOKK/1210 (Huron), and Hot Adult Contemporary-formatted “Tiger 95.3” (K237EL and KIJV/1340 Huron).

Riverfront Broadcasting LLC, owned by Doyle and Carolyn Becker, will pay Dakota Communications $255,000 for the station licenses, equipment, and a tower site, according to an asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC.

Separately, Becker Enterprises LLC will pay TBG Enterprises LP $345,000 for the station building and a tower site in Prospect Park.

Riverfront also owns three stations in Yankton, three in Pierre, and six in the Black Hills. A sister company owns two stations in southern Minnesota.

Dakota Communications, Ltd. is owned by Duane and Barbara Butt. Duane Butt also owns 30% owner of Dakota Broadcasting LLC, which owns two stations in the Aberdeen market, two in southern Minnesota, and nine in northwestern Iowa.
