The following are updates to previously-reported items and other recent regulatory filings and actions concerning Upper Midwest broadcast stations. This report is created by the author and is not an official report of the FCC.
Minnesota
The FCC granted SagamoreHill’s KMYN-LD/32 (Duluth) an upgrade from 7.5kW to 15kW, remaining at its present site in the Duluth antenna farm.
The FCC approved Zoe Communications’ purchase of WELY-FM/94.5 (Ely) and WELY/1450 (Ely) from the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.
North Dakota
The FCC approved construction permits for upgrades by Gray TV’s K18NW-D (Minot) from 150W to 15kW and K20PB-D (Williston) from 200W to 15kW.
Wisconsin
Civic Media’s W297CU/107.3 (Amery), which currently relays WLAK/1260 (Amery) from a tower north of Turtle Lake, has applied to change frequency to 107.5 and move its transmitter to the southwest. From its new location along U.S. Highway 8 in central Polk County, the 250-Watt translator’s main coverage area would rimshot Amery and Balsam Lake.
Magnum Communications’ WRDB/1400 (Reedsburg) was granted a construction permit to lower its nighttime power to 640 Watts, remaining 1kW during the day. The station has had special temporary authority to transmit at 75 Watts using a longwire antenna following a February 2022 tower collapse.
