Lakeland Media Adds Three More Western Minnesota Radio Stations

Lakeland Media LLC has reached a deal to purchase several western Minnesota radio stations to add to its existing group in the region.

The deal with Headwaters Media LLC includes Classic Rocker “94.1 The Loon” (KKLN Atwater-Willmar), Classic Hits station KSCR-FM/93.5 (Benson), Classic Country outlet KBMO/1290 (Benson), and KBMO translator K278CX/103.5 (Benson).

The asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC lists a purchase price of $375,000, which includes a consulting agreement with John Jennings valued at $200,000. Jennings owns 100% of Headwaters Media.

Lakeland Media LLC, owned by J. David Linder and Lynn Ketelsen through Linder Media LLC and Ketelsen Media LLC, owns KWLM/1340 (Willmar), KOLV/100.1 (Olivia), KQIC/102.5 (Willmar), and KLFN/106.5 (Sunburg).

The group competes with Ingstad Media’s KDJS/1590 (Willmar), KDJS-FM/95.3 (Willmar), and KRVY/97.3 (Starbuck).
