Midwest Flips Sioux Falls Contemporary Hits Station to AC

Posted on April 17, 2025April 17, 2025 by Jon Ellis

Midwest Communications’ “Q95-7” (KQSF Dell Rapids-Sioux Falls) has switched from Contemporary Hits to Adult Contemporary.

The change comes ahead of WestwoodOne’s elimination of seven syndicated formats, including Hits Now!, as has been reported by RadioInsight. KQSF appears to now be carrying WestwoodOne’s AC format.

KQSF retained its previous imaging and “Most Music” positioner with the switch. It had run Contemporary Hits since 2018.

Midwest also runs legacy AC outlet KELO-FM/101.9 (Sioux Falls), which has moved to a more Hot AC direction focusing on more recent pop hits. The “Q” format plays more `80s and `90s along with some recent hits.

The stations’ Contemporary Hits competitor is Townsquare Media’s “Hot 104.7” (KKLS-FM Sioux Falls). There are no other AC stations in the market.
