Telemundo Minnesota has added a signal in Duluth, marking the first time Spanish-language programming has been available on broadcast TV in the Twin Ports.
The network is now being carried on KMYN-LD/32.1 (Duluth), simulcasting with KMWE-LD/17.1 (St. Cloud-St. Paul) and KXSH-LD/35.1 (Rochester). The stations are owned by SagamoreHill of Minneapolis.
SagamoreHill purchased KMYN-LD in early 2023 and recently added Telemundo on the station.
KMYN-LD continues to carry Daystar on channel 32.2 and Jewelry TV on 32.6, with no DT3, DT4, or DT5 channels. The website of new network MovieSphere Gold lists KMYN-LD as a future affiliate.
The station transmits with 7.5kW from the Duluth antenna farm and has a construction permit to upgrade to 15kW.
The 2020 Census found a Hispanic or Latino population of just over 2,000 people in Duluth.
