Civic Media Switches Central Wisconsin Station to Oldies

Posted on December 15, 2025 by Jon Ellis

For the third time in five months, Civic Media has switched one of its Wisconsin stations from News/Talk to a music-based format.

WFHR/1320 (Wisconsin Rapids) and W248DE/97.5 (Wisconsin Rapids) switched to Full Service Oldies on Dec. 15 positioned as “Local News and Timeless Hits.”

WFHR has initially continued to air “Mornings with Pat Kreitlow,” but Kreitlow announced on Monday’s show that this is his last week of live shows, with repeats set to air until the end of the year. Kreitlow will continue with his role as founding editor of Up North News.

Civic also switched a Green Bay station to Oldies in August and flipped an Amery station to Country earlier this month.

WFHR had been among the first stations to carry Civic’s News/Talk service when the company began buying stations in 2022 to assemble the network.

The News/Talk network continues to air on eight AM stations and nine FM translators across Wisconsin.

WFHR is operated alongside Classic Country station WIRI/105.5 (Nekoosa-Wisconsin Rapids).
