Riverfront Broadcasting is adding a fifth South Dakota radio market with the $350,000 purchase of a group in Watertown.
The purchase of Connoisseur’s six stations in the market was submitted to the FCC for approval on June 1.
The stations include two Country outlets, “KS93” (KSDR-FM/92.9 Watertown) and KDLO-FM/96.9 (Watertown). Other stations in the group are Hot Adult Contemporary station “Kixx 96” (KIXX/96.1 Watertown), Classic Hits outlet KKSD/104.3 (Milbank), News/Oldies station KWAT/950 (Watertown), and Conservative Talker KSDR/1480 (Watertown).
Neither of the AM stations has an FM translator.
The sale does not come as a surprise given Connoisseur’s earlier sales of stations in Brookings and Madison, S.D. It had acquired the stations as part of its purchase of Alpha Media.
Riverfront owns stations in the Huron, Pierre, Rapid City, and Yankton markets, while Riverfront Broadcasting of Minnesota owns two stations in Blue Earth. The Yankton-based company is owned by Carolyn and Doyle Becker.
