Civic Media Station in SW Wis. Flips from Talk to Oldies

Posted on May 5, 2026May 6, 2026 by Jon Ellis

Civic Media has flipped an AM station and its FM translator in southwestern Wisconsin from News/Talk to Full-Service Oldies.

WRCE/1450 and W299CD/107.7 (Richland Center) are now positioned as “local news and timeless hits,” the same imaging used by other Civic Media Oldies stations.

The format includes ABC News and Civic Media news, sports, and weather updates at the top of the hour.

WRCE operates alongside Full-Service Country outlet WRCO-FM/100.9 (Richland Center).

WRCE, formerly WRCO, had carried Soft Oldies before switching to Civic’s News/Talk network in 2022.

It’s the fourth station that Civic has flipped from News/Talk to Oldies in the past year. All of the stations that have flipped are AM stations with FM translators, branded primarily by the FM frequency.

Civic continues to run News/Talk formats on seven AM stations and eight FM translators.
