Radio Group in North-Central Iowa Adds Two Stations

Posted on May 7, 2026 by Jon Ellis

OnTheGoMedia, which owns two stations in north-central Iowa, has taken over operations of an additional two stations in the region.

The company announced that on May 1, it assumed “full management and programming responsibilities” for Eldora Broadcasting’s KDAO-FM/92.9 (Eldora-Marshalltown) and MTN Broadcasting’s KDAO/1190 (Marshalltown). KDAO is also heard on K279AN/103.7 (Marshalltown) and K232GG/94.3 (Grundy Center).

OnTheGoMedia owns and operates KLMJ/104.9 (Hampton) and “99 The Wave” (KQCR-FM/98.9 Parkersburg). The company purchased the stations in 2022.

The announcement says OnTheGoMedia has retained the staff of KDAO.

The change in management follows last year’s death of Mark Osmundson, who signed on KDAO in 1979 with ownership shared with his parents, Dean and Audrey Osmundson. The most recent ownership reports on file with the FCC list Audrey Osmundson as majority owner of both Eldora Broadcasting and MTN.

“Mark Osmundson didn’t just run a radio station; he built a legacy that spanned nearly half a century,” said OnTheGoMedia President, Shawn Dietz, in the announcement. “Following his passing last year, we feel a deep responsibility to uphold the high standards of service and integrity that were the hallmarks of Mark’s storied career. We are honored to carry his torch forward.”

KLMJ carries a Full Service Country format while KQCR-FM and KDAO carry Classic Hits and KDAO-FM carries Adult Contemporary.

In late 2024, KDAO-FM completed a frequency change from 99.5 to 92.9 which included an upgrade to 13.5kW/100m (class C3).
