Thirty-five years after signing on KMCH/94.7 (Manchester), Coloff Media is selling the station to its longtime manager.
Sarah Meyer’s Meyer Media Group LLC will pay Coloff Media LLC $1.3 million for KMCH, according to an asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC on Oct. 19.
KMCH’s 6kW/100m (class A) signal serves an area between Dubuque and Waterloo. It carries a full-service mix of Adult Contemporary, Classic Hits, and Country known as “Mix 94.7.”
Meyer joined KMCH in 2005 as an account executive and has been station manager since 2015.
Tony and Sue Coloff signed on KMCH in 1991, with their son Jim Coloff serving as its first manager. Coloff now heads the company and, in a news story posted on KMCH’s website, described Meyer and her family as the “perfect people” to keep KMCH’s local legacy alive.
KMCH reports Meyer does not plan any changes to day-to-day operations but does plan to resume the Friday All-Request Show and Coaches Corner on Saturday morning.
Coloff retains ten stations elsewhere in Iowa.
