Air1 Translator Back on the Air in Minneapolis

Posted on September 4, 2020 by Jon Ellis

An FCC filing indicates the Educational Media Foundation’s “Air1” Worship music network is back on the air on an analog translator in Minneapolis.

W225AP/92.9 is now transmitting from the Wells Fargo Center in Minneapolis with a 250-Watt directional facility. The directional antenna limits the signal toward the northwest, protecting KKJM/92.9 (St. Joseph-St. Cloud).

An interference complaint from KKJM had forced W225AP to turn off its previous non-directional Minneapolis facility. W225AP subsequently broadcast from St. Paul for the last several years.

“Air1” is also heard in the metro on K249ED/97.7, which transmits from the KQQL tower site in the far northern suburb of Nowthen. Programming for W225AP and K249ED originates on the HD2 channel of KTCZ/97.1.

EMF also operates the “K-Love” network, heard on K260BA/99.9 from the Wells Fargo Center.
