After redirecting listeners of its previous Country format to a new sister station, a western Nebraska radio station has relaunched as a Classic Country station.
“Q Country Classics” began airing on KNPQ/107.3 (Hershey-North Platte) on Monday, Dec. 28, after six weeks as “Q Country Christmas.” The new playlist includes Country hits from the `70s, `80s, and `90s.
The change comes after KNPQ owner Eagle Radio bought KZTL/93.5 (Paxton-North Platte) and another station from Legacy Communications and relaunched KZTL’s Country format as “Z93-5,” moving most of the “Q Country” hosts over to the other station.
Eagle Radio’s two Country formats compete with Armada Media heritage Country outlet “KX104” (KXNP/103.5 North Platte).
Eagle has four FM full-power FM stations, one FM translator, and one AM station in the market while Armada has two full-power FM’s, one FM translator, and one AM station.
