Prairie Winds/Hub City Radio Adds 7th FM in Aberdeen

Posted on March 31, 2021 by Jon Ellis

Prairie Winds Broadcasting is adding a seventh FM signal to its Hub City Radio group in Aberdeen.

An asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC indicates that Prairie Winds is paying $10,000 to buy K233BN/94.5 (Aberdeen) from Christian broadcaster VCY America.

K233BN already transmits from the tower of Prairie Winds’ KSDN-FM/94.1 (Aberdeen), and the application to transfer K233BN’s license lists KSDN-FM as the station it will rebroadcast. That could potentially mean an HD subchannel of KSDN-FM; the station’s HD2 channel already feeds K296FW/107.1 (Aberdeen).

Prairie Winds already owns four full-power FM signals and two FM translators in Aberdeen, in addition to two AM stations.
