Green Bay Station Begins Stunting after Christmas Music Ends

Posted on December 27, 2022March 3, 2024 by Jon Ellis

Woodward Communications’ WKZG/104.3 (Seymour-Appleton-Green Bay) has begin stunting as “Weird Al Radio” as it prepares to change its callsign in the new year.

The previous Adult Contemporary-formatted “KZ104.3” had gone into All-Christmas mode on Nov. 1, as it had each year since 2019. However, an FCC filing has revealed that the station plans to change its callsign to WFZZ effective Jan. 3, 2023.

The station had continued Christmas music until Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 9 a.m., when it kicked off the stunting with Weird Al’s “Amish Paradise.”

Imaging says “something new is coming soon to 104-3” and “only three people know what we’re up to.”

The change will be 104.3’s sixth format and fifth identity since it signed on in 1998. The “KZ” identity launched as an `80s and `90s Hits format in 2012 and later evolved to Adult Contemporary.
