The NHL’s Winnipeg Jets are returning to CJOB/680 and will also be simulcast on “Power 97” (CJKR-FM/97.5), giving the team both wider AM coverage and an FM signal.
The original incarnation of the Jets had been heard on CJOB until the team’s demise in 1996. When the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg and became a new version of the Jets in 2011, Bell Media’s CFRW/1290 became their radio home.
The new CJOB deal, announced Monday, goes through the 2026-2027 season. Moving to CJOB’s 50kW signal gives the Jets broadcasts wider reach across Manitoba, northwestern Ontario, North Dakota, and northwestern Minnesota.
CJOB also carries the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Manitoba Moose.
