FCC Approves New FM Station for Red Lake Nation

Posted on March 7, 2019 by Jon Ellis

The FCC has approved a new 100kW station for the Red Lake Nation on 105.3.

The new class C1 station, which will be licensed to Red Lake, will transmit from a new tower north of Clearbrook and deliver a city-grade signal to most of the Red Lake Reservation and a rimshot signal to both Bemidji and Thief River Falls.

The Red Lake Nation has until February 2022 to get the new station on the air.

The new station could force the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe’s K287AD/105.3 (Bemidji) to change frequency.
