Twin Cities “Wolf” Population Down to One

The population of stations called “The Wolf” on the Twin Cities radio dial is down to one.

The “wolf” invasion was first rumored last fall when Entercom Country outlet KMNB/102.9 began hinting that a big change was coming. With “The Wolf” used by Entercom Country outlets in many other markets, iHeartMedia’s KEEY-HD2 (102.1) rebranded its New Country format as “The Wolf” days before KMNB’s switch.

The move didn’t stop KMNB from transforming into “The Wolf,” a change that included the addition of more `90s tracks and morning host Greg Thunder. KEEY-HD2 continued to use the slogan for several more months. Here’s a sampling from February:

However, in recent weeks, KEEY-HD2 has reverted back to its previous “K102 New” branding:
