New FM Signals in La Crosse, Lincoln, Several Other Communities

Posted on June 19, 2019 by Jon Ellis

Thief River Falls, MN: Tor Ingstad’s Iowa City Broadcasting has signed on two new signals: K227DF/93.3 relays the News/Talk/Sports format of KTRF/1230, while K253CL/98.5 relays “Real Country” from KKAQ/1460. The group also includes Variety Hits KTRF-FM/94.1 (Red Lake Falls) and Country outlet KKDQ/99.3.

Willmar, MN: Tor Ingstad’s Iowa City Broadcasting has signed on K289CO/105.7, relaying “Gold Country” from KDJS/1590. Sister station KDJS-FM/95.3 runs a Country format featuring newer songs.

Lincoln, NE: Walnut Radio has signed on K294DJ/106.7, relaying the Christian Talk format of KCRO/660 (Omaha). Though it’s a new signal to Lincoln, the license was actually moved in from Omaha.

Norfolk, NE: K254CX/98.7 is on the air relaying the Nebraska Rural Radio Association’s KTIC/840 (West Point). KTIC’s Farm-based Country format is also relayed on K252EG/98.3 (West Point).

La Crosse, WI: W297CT/107.3 is on the air relaying the Hot Adult Contemporary format of WXYM/96.1 (Tomah), improving the station’s signal on the edge of its main coverage area. Sister Grace, Inc. first applied for the new translator in 2003 but the construction permit wasn’t granted until last year after an FCC auction finally resolved conflicting applications. Sister Grace, Inc. transferred the permit to WXYM owner David R. Magnum late last year.

Sparta/Tomah, WI: Magnum Radio’s WBOG/1460 (Tomah) has signed on W267CO/101.3, carrying its “Kool” Classic Hits format. The translator is located between Sparta and Tomah, reaching both communities.
