A social media post indicates WAVL/100.5 (Rothschild-Wausau), formerly WDTX, has dropped its Sports format as expected and is now running Christmas music.
A post on WAVL’s Facebook page, which has the name “Wave 100.5,” says a new format will begin Dec. 26.
As reported here earlier this week, WDTX’s former “Sports Fan” lineup of ESPN and other syndicated programming has been moved over to sister Sunrise Broadcasting station WXCO/1230 (Wausau). However, WAVL’s Facebook post indicates the station will continue to carry NFL football from Westwood One.
WDTX’s flip to Christmas music comes 12 days after Muzzy Broadcast Group’s WSPT/97.9 (Stevens Point) switched to the seasonal format.
